Open to all levels. We warmup with Qigong and then transition to the Yang style long form Tai Chi set.

We will meet outside weather permitting, so please bring hat, sunglasses, windbreaker, etc.

Instructor, Fern Jeffcoat has taught Qigong and Tai Chi since 1993. She also practices and teaches Raja Yoga meditation. Fern combines movement, breathing and meditation to facilitate the integration of soul and body, which helps to ease into a state of health and wellness.

Have you ever wished that you had the power to face difficult situations with courage and to find solutions with ease? Have you been able to make decisions about your life with self-confidence and with feelings of satisfaction and success?

Through the spiritual knowledge of Raja Yoga and the meditation practice, one can gain access to receiving the eight spiritual powers and use them practically in challenging moments in life.

These eight powers can help you to regain confidence, to navigate you through least travelled paths and to achieve success at every step.

In this retreat, participants will:

  • Learn to understand the self as an eternal spiritual being with its original qualities
  • Gain control over the negative thinking patterns and learn ways to transform them
  • Learn the method of connecting the self to the Source of all spiritual powers and have the access to the eight powers
  • Understand the meaning of eight powers and use the powers practically to solve problems, empower the self and others, and become successful in life

Activities include meditation, reflective exercises on qualities and role playing.

Facilitator: Kyoko Kimura, BA in Music Education and MA in flute performance. Kyoko is a resident of our San Francisco center and is a Raja Yoga practitioner and meditation teacher since 2000. She facilitates many workshops and retreats on virtues, Positive Thinking, Stress Free Living, Inner Beauty, Inner Bliss and Self-Empowerment.  She also teaches values lessons through music at public schools in San Francisco, and facilitates summer camps for children and adolescents in the greater Bay Area.

Facilitators: Rammohan Rao, Padma Rao, Elizabeth Padilla

Rammohan Rao, PhD in Biochemistry and Neurosciences, works as a Research Associate Professor of Neuroscience at the Buck Institute. Ram has more than 15 years of research and teaching experience in Neuroscience and has published more than 50 peer reviewed papers in scientific journals and text book chapters. He went to CCA and received his certification as Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist. He serves as a faculty at the California College of Ayurveda and teaches in their Nevada city location. Ram is also a dedicated Hatha yoga practitioner and is a RYT. Ram has published several articles in major Yoga/Ayurveda journals and a featured speaker in several meetings and symposia. He is a member of the NAMA, member of the AAPNA and Science Editor of Ayurveda Journal of Health.

Padma Rao is an Information Technology Professional. She has been practicing Pranic Healing since 2008. Padma is also a Hatha yoga practitioner with an active Meditation practice. Padma offers her services to the community by facilitating Free Pranic Healing Clinic at the Anubhuti Retreat Center. Additionally, in her spare time and together with Ram, she offers consultations in Meditation, pranic healing and Pranayama techniques.

 

Elizabeth Padilla has been studying and teaching Raja Yoga Meditation since 1985. She has facilitated many seminars, workshops and value based programs, and is the program director at Anubhuti. Elizabeth is a talented singer and accomplished performing artist who touches hearts and souls through her work.

Treat yourself — spend a weekend relaxing, meditating and exploring ways to balance and nurture the self in a serene and beautiful setting. Participants will be invited to reflect on their inner qualities and values, experience the effects of positive and pure thoughts on the mind, explore the process of change, and learn about nurturing ways to balance, heal and enjoy our inner life. There will be time for walks and qigong — and a bit of art. Some meditation  instruction will be included. Raja yoga meditation is a practical, simple, peaceful, love-filled form of meditation.

Facilitator: Diane Tillman has been a student and teacher with the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University for 35 years. She currently directs the Center in Seal Beach, California, and writes for a values education program. A native Californian, Diane encountered raja yoga while visiting India on a year-long sabbatical in 1981. Diane is a Licensed Educational Psychologist and a Marriage and Family Therapist. She travels widely and has lectured and conducted seminars in more than 30 countries. She enjoys integrating the knowledge of psychology and spirituality, finding it helps people move in a positive direction more easily . . . and with much more love, lightness and understanding.

Includes shared accommodation with private bath, wholesome and delicious vegetarian meals, and snacks with tea/coffee breaks.

Tai Chi / Qigong Class

Journey inside moving life energy. Increase flexibility, relaxation, balance and concentration. Strengthen and enliven the body and spirit. Bring the inner smile out. Experience meditation in motion. Open to all levels. We warmup with Qigong and then transition to the Yang style long form Tai Chi set.

We will meet outside weather permitting, so please bring hat, sunglasses, windbreaker, etc.

Instructor, Fern Jeffcoat has taught Qigong and Tai Chi since 1993. She also practices and teaches Raja Yoga meditation. Fern combines movement, breathing and meditation to facilitate the integration of soul and body, which helps to ease into a state of health and wellness.

Topics Covered:
